Hi all
I’m thinking of buying a Mk6 golf. Not many have satnav, I would like to retrofit an OEM unit preferably or a double din pioneer unit.
I went down this rabbit hole years ago try to fit a OEM unit in my T5.
Turned out the canbus in the van wasn’t up to the job. I ended up fitting a pioneer unit.
The golf has parking sensors and steering wheel controls I would like to retain these I asume I will therefore need an OEM unit?
If I get an OEM unit does the ECU need updating or is it plug and play.
I know I will need a satellite receiver, that’s an easy fix under the dashboard

Depending on exactly what features you want RCD330 is a popular, OE upgrade for a MK6.

Thanks for advice
I would like satnav
Option for iPhone music
Parking sensors and steering wheel controls
Car play would be good but not essential

RCD330, use Carplay for everything. Integrates into OE steering wheel, sensors etc.

Lots of clones around on Aliexpress etc.
