Much chatter that Targa Florio may have gone. Lots of Sale or Return stock. Ads seem to have disappeared. Lots of chatter on YouTube about it.

Looks definite then. Wonder if this thread will be moderated soon?

If the forecourt was emptied at the end of December where have the cars gone?

The site was rented with the Landlord now advertising it as available for rent.

There is a Facebook Group for "victims of Targa Florio".

Scary stuff. My impression of the dealer was always that they looked smart and professional with a lovely premises. I was a potential customer a few times.

Someone tried to give a heads up on this a few weeks ago but PH deleted the thread whilst running an advertorial on the business on the front page, last I looked they had a lot of metal not sure how you disappear that stock so quickly and vanish.

The question is why PH was promoting an ad recently (the Subaru one, which suddently vanished), given the strong evidence out there.

The same thing was seen with the motoring press's continual promotion of SCM well into their demise.

I imagine this thread will be deleted soon anyway.

Saw some news on this a few days ago and been looking for a thread on it.

Why being deleted when its actual news? If Greggs suddenly went to the wall we'd be allowed to discuss - or am I being stupid?

Surely this kills Sale or Return?

If you don't have insurance or finance on the car but you've handed over the keys and left it with a company about which you know little you're at high risk of losing that car with no recompense at all?

We had that flashy chavvy supercar dealer go pop and I thought it always looked slightly dodgy. I didn't think of Targa Florio in the same way but that's just based on website imagery and online tone. They did always have really nice stock.

I would guess that the dealer owes PistonHeads for ads still and they'd hope to be paid but likely will be a creditor applying to the Administrator for recompense and can't be seen to have caused or contributed to the the business failure. I'm sure it's complicated. I doubt it's sinister.

What does this tell us about the state of the market for premium cars?

My prediction for 2026 is that both classic cars and high performance premium cars are going to take a beating this year. The downwards momentum for the post covid madness will continue as the poor economy and tax rises start to really bite. Top end silly stuff will be utterly immune but the bread and butter PistonHead cars will be under bigger downward pressure.

I'm not Warren Buffett but a two-minute look at the accounts on companies house would have made it pretty obvious they were on a wing and a prayer.

£10,000 cash on account? With several million pounds worth of stock on the rented but pretty forecourt? Yeah - seems obvious now but hadn't to me for the past couple of years when I perused their ads. You live and learn.

Quite a few people interested in the whereabouts of William Kirkham.

Given what I know of one of them I hope he has a good explanation for his disappearance or good health cover.
