Well folks my 2021 McLaren GT was delivered from Romans International to my home in Plymouth in an enclosed trailer foc on Friday last .
I'm delighted with the car which is virtually mint inside and out , and having just sold my Lamborghini Huracan , I can say that in my humble opinion the GT is quicker than the Huracan by a fair degree , particularly in the mid range punch .
Anyway to the point .
I've been ploughing through the manual until I reach information overload .
In the Huracan , I used a couple of SD cars with my favourites for music entertainment .
I've transferred the music on both cards to a memory stick .
I have installed the stick in the USB socket situated in the arm rest , but the infotainment system refuses to recognise it let alone play its contents .
I am a dinosaur when it comes to IT .
Where am I going wrong , any ideas ?

Yeah 600hp turbo is quicker than 600hp n/a, because it has a fuller power curve so higher average power smile

It's do-able but fiddly, I have it working well in my 570GT.

I think the memory stick has to be formatted as FAT32 for the car to read it. Unfortunately, most versions of Windows won't let you format a stick above 32GB as FAT32, even though it's perfectly possible; I think I downloaded a third-party app to format the memory stick properly.

What memory stick do you have, and what format are the files you're putting on it? MP3 files work, I think it can do a few other audio formats as well.

Step by step to format a stick as FAT32:

Fat32 formatted on a Mac.

128G usb drive fitted to slot 1.

Works fine in a 570s.

I used USB when I got my first 650. It did work fine but for some odd reason a few albums didn't show up. They were there and if I browsed folders I could see them, but it was a bit annoying.

These days, phone Bluetooth seems simpler.

Having same problem in a 2018 720 - my son tells me the iPod - USB stuff is too old / the Mclaren tech is too new.

Worked fine in the 12c

Folks , thank you for all your advice .
Finally sorted the problem.
The stick I was using was a 258GB.
Bought a 32 GB from Amazon and after successfully formatting to FAT32 have transferred a lot of my favourites to the 32 which works fine .
For some reason the car would not recognise the large memory stick .
