Best Champagne Tour is the Veuve Clicquot but you have to book in advance, the tourist office will do this for you, ther are right next to the Cathedral.
Tattinger is also very good you get to go into the old chalk pit cellars. Piper is okay but a bit more modern (you get to go on a little train round in a Jorvik style)
The Old GP stands are derelict, you can park up and wander round them, check photo in profile, but there is a cafe up the road with all the old photos etc

If its the same place, I went there in September with Surrey TVRCC.

It was an awesome trip. The old straight is now public highway, which you can blat up and down, its fairly quiet. The stands are still there. We all pitched up and a load of French kids on bikes arrived to egg us on. One went for a trip in a Cerb; his face was a picture when they got back!
Visited Moet & Chandon, but Mercier was also good one.

The road down to old circuit remained blocked when I was there with Paul and Mags a couple fo years agao, however, it is still easy to get past the block and down. The old buildings were untouchd and are pretty dangerous in places when you're looking for great photo angles, otherwise you can still do a fly past at XXX mph and pretend you are racing, I know you will

They used to be much more derelict than they are now, but I understand they've been being sympathetically restored by a group of local enthusiasts.

The local council had blocked the road off in 2003 but they have now reinstated it and have placed a handy roundabout at each end (how thoughtful!). The grandstands are now much safer to clamber around and quite a few of the original signs are there (if a little faded).
Do not miss this place, its awesome.

Can recomend the trip. We went down in April and I must say flying past those grandstands definately brings out the kid and the leadfoot in you
Been there before for the champagne tours but this time we looked round Ruinart. It´s the oldest of all the champagne (most expensive too) houses and by far the best.

Thanks for all the replies as I said was there 5 years ago, got the picture with other TVR,S outside the pits but will go back again and have a picture of a lonesome cerb . Thanks for the advice on the champagne tours done the piper one last time so will do the vuerve clicquo this time.

already drove past the pits at xxx mph chris (ex griff driver sold it to ian and sam)was my passenger we went past the pits at about 65-70 mph
when he said I think we better slow down now. Paul and Mags was on that trip brill.
