woefully off topic for the Porsche forum, I know (sorry), but had to share my experience of my first four wheeled track day, which was at Bruntingthorpe on Saturday. The reason it's off topic is that I wasn't driving my 996TT, but instead was in my brother in law's race prepped Honda CRX.
It has a very trick Honda B20 engine (chucking out about 270BHP), Strengthened gearbox running through a Quaife diff. Trick suspension, and sticky Dunlop D888 tyres. Also, it only weighs 870KGs.
It's huge fun on the track, and very quick. Overtook all sorts on the day (couple of ariel Atoms, Various 7s, assorted Scoobies, and EVOs). In fact very little actually overtook us all day.
Great fun. Can't wait to do it again !!!!!!

sounds a great little car... and how compromised normal road stuff can be on track in comparison to a dedicated tool (and if you drive LIKE a dedicated tool, you'll be quicker still )
You've obviously seen my driving at some point
You're spot on though. the number of people in much more expensive machinery that came over during the day saying "what the hell have you done to that ??"
