Front Door Deadlock.

Hi,

We have an issue where sometimes the front door can be locked, unlocked by the key but still won't open.
If you relock and unlock a few times it seems to work eventually.

I took a good look today at the mechanism and it looks like the cuplrit may be a pin in the deadlock bolt itself which can come loose. So it may still prodrude into the mortice when the deadbolt is retracted.

Now I can remove that pin entirely, it isn't held in place at all. And all seems to work fine.

I'm just wondering what it's function is at all, there is a 2nd pin in there too. But that seems to be secured.

The pin is a hardened roller which makes it difficult to cut through the brass tongue.
It's supposed to rotate, but not move sideways I think!

Glue it back in, it won’t come out then . The chances of someone breaking into your house by trying to cut through the lock are slim to zero. So it doesn’t need to rotate.

Will do, I was just a bit worried it might screw it up. Loctite it is. Thanks!
