For those not aware, Mock the Week is being re-launched and has found a new home on TLC which is now free to air.

First episode is on Sunday 1 February at 9.00pm (ie. a week from now).

Source:
I saw a trailer for it on Sky and then went googling for it. I found this link: https://rts.org.uk/article/mock-week-return-dara-b...

Dara was hosting the trailer so he at least is returning, and the article I linked suggests that a lot of the people from the latter series will return.

I know that some will reply to this thread simply to say Mock the Week is crap and they won't be watching it, so that's a given. Yawn. Whatever. But my reason for posting is for the people who *do* like it and will be happy by the news.

At least it's been brought back with the same people behind the original in terms of the creators / producers (Levinson / Patterson) rather than trying to bring it back as a re-engineered reboot. Good to see loads of the original comics back alongside Dara, Hugh, Ed, etc, like Milton Jones.

I still occasionally dip in and out of the ones that get repeated on Dave at night - classics including Monsoon Poultry Hospital, Dara as the Mega Bus mascot and Lincolnshire Penis Sausage, Gary Delaney's Princess Monaco of Kent and of the more recent lot Bleached Minions. Edit - oh and obviously The Dip which Maisie Adam still gets lightly heckled with years later hehe

Stopped watching it and a lot of other bbc laff shows as they became control freaky about what the think is comedy, filling quotas with people that are plainly not funny.
Maybe it will be better away from the bbc.

Apparently Hugh is going to miss the first couple of shows as he's got filming commitments elsewhere. Pretty sure this will be the first episodes he'll have missed, I recall him receiving a Long Service mug (or possible a badge?) at some point.

First episode appears to have Ed Byrne, Sara Pascoe, Angela Barnes, Rhys Jones, Russell Howard and Ahir Shah as Dara's guests.

Yes they gave him a deliberately pathetic small plastic trophy. He and Dara were literally on every show.

Shame he is going to break that unbroken record.

Solid line-up and I particularly like Rhys James and Ahir Shah. I have to say I'm surprised that Russell Howard has returned. I thought he had moved on.

Incidentally, if anyone wonders what I look like in real life, I think I look quite a lot like Angela Barnes only with more brunette hair. Make of that what you will. silly

Same here, too many people on it towards the end of the BBC run not because they were funny but because they filled a quota.

Hope this new series will be different.

Bring back Frankie Boyle!

Humour is a personal thing. I found all of them funny and talking of quotas doesn't really cast you in a very good light TBH

Oh no, Clockwork Cupcake doesn't have the same opinion as me, whatever shall I do?

I doubt they can afford Romesh any more.

In one of the "If this is the answer what is the question?" rounds the answer was "1 million" and one of the suggestions was "How much would you now need to pay Romesh to come on this show?" smile
