Guys,

Im a fairly new owner of a T350t.

Since winter is aproaching i want to store the new car in the garage and keep in on charge.

now, i think i've found a couple of holes near one of the front wheels where i stick the charger, but does this mean i've got to spend £165 buying a battery conditioner from my dealer or can i just go in to Halfords and buy a trickle charger??

any advice would be great.

Thanks.

I use a trickle charge plugged into the lighter socket. Works just fine.

Do you really have the confidence to leave it wired up to the mains unattended for weeks at a time? I'm not sure I do or am I just being paranoid. I have an optimate already fitted to the car as standard. It's a Gatwick tvr thing.

Im not sure about plugging it into the cigarete lighter as i need to keep the car locked.

I was wondering more about the external battery points under the front wing. The only thing i could find was 2 small holes so i assumed they were a conection for a conditioner of some sort??!

You've found the external terminals for the battery. Leven sell a set of leads which connect to these terminals or you could just connect a charger/conditioner directly. Positive terminal towards the front of the car (I think - haven't needed to go grubbing around there much recently).

No problems keeping my Accumate plugged into the cigar lighter on my Tamora which is always locked when connected.

Since my car is in an alarmed garage I don't bother locking it. If someone has got that far the car being locked won't stop them. Don't forget it is still immobilised so its not going to drive off on its own.

Obviously not a choice if you're in some kind of shared garage.

I have used a Halfords sourced trickle charger which I attach to the battery coonectors behind the nearside wheel for over a year now within a locked garage for over a year as recommended by my dealer. It was a Draper and cost around £26. I attach it when I'm away for up to 5 weeks and never had a problem. The battery is always in first class condition when I return.
