Rattle

As already mentioned in a previous thread , my 2021 McLaren GT was delivered last Thursday . The car has covered just 5000 miles and is mint .
Yesterday however I noticed that starting from cold the engine rattles for about one second and then ticks over normally .
The car drives fine and the rattle does not occur when the engine is warm or hot .
I had a BMW i35 at one stage and the engine exhibited the same symptoms .
Is this normal on a McLaren 4 litre engine ?
Is it just a matter of oil being pumped up to the cam gear from the oil tank etc ?

Would it be easy to record the sound of yours from cold and compare this to the sound of another from cold at a dealership ?

Good idea, but the nearest dealership is 160 miles away .
I'll see what I can get sorted out .

Isn't there one at Bristol?

Still nearly 3 hours North, but not quite 160 miles. I did like living in Plymouth, but it took bl00dy ages to get anywhere except Cornwall

Or ask your preferred Mc dealer to start up a GT from cold whilst recording the sound ... standing where for consistency ??
