Bit of an odd one this. I bought my son a Scorpion Exo 491 for Christmas. We tried it on on Christmas day and said it was all fine so I put it in my helmet cabinet with all the others.

However, yesterday he randomly wanted to put it on again and said there were ridges towards the rear of the helmet that were uncomfortable. I had a look and I can see his point, these just aren't padded at all. I've called sportsbikeshop where it was purchased from and they were happy to return it until I told them we had peeled off the visor film - in hindsight I should have left this on until the Christmas hype had died down and he could try it on again properly.

Before I go out and buy an alternative, I just wondered if anyone can suggest adding some extra padding to cover up these ridges? These aren't a brand I'm familiar with but we was adament he wanted that particular lid so going against my better judgement I ordered it blindly after measuring his head.

... or buying a replacement visor with the film still on? Cheaper than a new helmet.

Can you share any pictures? I bought a scorpion helmet last year (albeit the 520). But no issues at all with the padding. Mine did be in quite a lot after a few days wear so might be worth bearing with it to see if it improves with use?

I will post some when I get home.. it just looks as though the padding falls slightly short of where it should do. I've looked at mine, my wifes and my other sons lids (all different brands) and none of them have this issue.

Completely unpadded area suggests nothing should be touching it.

Could it be an off bike thing where he’s holding his head in a position he wouldn’t on the bike?
