MOT Mileage Discrepancy
Discussion
I'm helping the son's GF buy her first car. We've seen a nice little Clio which at an earlier point in it's life had a 50,000 mile haircut in one year. It looks like the MOT tester had fat fingers as no-one wants to do 50,000 miles in a year in a 1.2 sh!tbox (do they?)
I've done an Experian Autocheck and nothing else has my Spidey Senses tingling. Does this look legit?

Tested twice in 2020 just 4 months apart ??
That's the same date as the VRM change to HOLLY... so it will be the dealer MOTing it at point of sale so It has 12 months MOT. However, that doesn't match teh most recent keeper change in 2018 (?)There's no way someone did 52,000 miles in a year, so the 72,299 is meant to be 22,299

Why can't anyone do 52k in a year ? There's no way someone did 52,000 miles in a year, so the 72,299 is meant to be 22,299

I did 132k in one van in a year, and it wasn't the only one I was driving, and driving my car too.
Nearly killed me but hey, needs must lol, 52k is a price of piss.

It’s a typo when entered on the computer, and as long as the car looks ok it wouldn’t worry me.

Yes, people *can* do that, but the chances of that happening in a small French hatchback with the same owner that s doing a tenth of that is so close to zero as to not be worth worrying about.

Somewhat true, but it can happen, the way you said it was as if nobody can drive that far in a year lol. And I have seen, and bought, little hatchback cars with starship miles, like a 1.25 Fiesta that got to over 250k before it got written off.It s a typo when entered on the computer, and as long as the car looks ok it wouldn t worry me.
