Is that a bad thing? That car has clearly hit something (or someone) and the plates have now been removed. Personally, I want people who do that sort of stuff off our roads.Cover up for people making the world worse then moan about the world being worse?

Perhaps it's just had a smash, both front and back number plates fallen off and the owner decided to park it on our quiet little cul-de-sac.

I would personally hang every car thief myself - no mercy, no quarter.maccboy said:
Apparently it's all in order, according to the police. That's good news.
Would be interesting to hear from police officers on this forum.I'm not a detective, but a car with recent accident damage and plates removed, left/abandoned in a cul-de-sac, is clearly suspicious. There is already a crime committed (of not displaying plates). And maybe further, more serious, crimes involving the crash. Aren't these things best investigated sooner rather than later after the act has taken place?
For the OP - is there any obvious secondary transfer around the collision area, for example animal remains, paint from another vehicle, clothing tears or threads?

Bit weird, but maybe the OP is a forensic scientist. I'm not a detective, but a car with recent accident damage and plates removed, left/abandoned in a cul-de-sac, is clearly suspicious. Investigating? The Police Investigating? Not a hope they will have any interest, especially if the car has checked out legal.

Drunk / drugged drivers deserve as much mercy as car thieves, i.e. f
k all. If it was one of our pride & joys we'd want it back so ring Plod and let them know it is there, and get a photo of the VIN in case the scroates move it tonight. Also post the car's location on the local Facebook group. Collectingbrass said:
