Discussion
Nice video of Tiff driving a V6, seems to be a fan. Looks tremendous in Eos green and sounds fabulous …

Is it his car? He seems to reference himself paying for the options.
What is being discussed on various other forums - and would be good to hear what people think here - is that SE he drives there you have to stop the car - like pull over and come to a full stop - to put it into track mode. Yes you read that correctly.NOT WHAT WE WANT HUH?
The question is - will they back-date the software when you take your car in for a service so you find that restriction now applies to your FE car?
I'm due to have mine serviced soon - I will be telling them NOT to update the software if there is any chance whatsoever that my car will start to function in that way.
Be interesting to find out from Lotus what the deal is here.

If you watch the screen when he is doing it you will see a warning that the "nanny features" have to be disabled in order to engage track mode. It seems to me that it is likely that this is why you have to have the car stopped to do it. It ought to therefore be unnecessary to change this on cars without these features. Heres hoping.NOT WHAT WE WANT HUH?

So many people want to disable the nanny features, that this maybe the quickest way to achieve it. Start car, select Track, job done.
No. The whole point is that with the new cars it would appear you can't select track if you have those features enabled. And the car 'turns on' with those features on. So you'd need to turn them off before selecting track. And in anycase the car won't allow you to start in track mode unless you hold the start button down for 3 seconds BEFORE starting the engine (without your foot on the brake). But it would seem that with the new cars not only would you have to do that - you'd have to turn off those nanny features before engaging track mode.I'm not totally against having to stop to enable Track mode. I've seen too many videos of idiots turning everything off and then booting it out of a wet roundabout only to end up in a ditch. The less crashed Emiras the cheaper my insurance will be on renewal.
On a side note it appears on the configurator that Track Mode is now part of an option called the 'Drivers Pack' so it won't even be included on all cars.
Glad I bought a fully loaded First Edition. They want £2K for Seneca Blue paint now, and £1.5K for the KEF sound system. They've taken a leaf out of Porsche's book. No wonder Tiff's Emira came out at an eye watering £117K!

Mad isn't it, that we got them at the right time. My V6 was £70k new and on 0%. Now it'd be around £110k and finance costs could be near £20k!!Glad I bought a fully loaded First Edition. What an utter shame about adding these effing annoying and, in my view, frankly dangerous features.
I believe the Alpine doesn't have them due to it being a low volume car, so I guess Lotus are making too many.
I can't believe that though. I've only ever seen 2 on the road since they were first made.
My Bigster has all that stuff but it doesn't have a track mode
Press start, then 2 slow presses on another button to select my own personal safety selection (which is zero nannies) then press another button on the steering wheel.
Every f
king time you get in the car.
I quite often don't bother and leave it be, I've got so used to the beeping and bonging that I don't hear them anymore.
It's just wrestling with the steering on the motorway for added fun when lane departure kicks in.
£117k for his Emira..... wow!

From his use of English I assumed it was his and specified accordingly, however for some reason I doubt it. A loaner from Lotus is more likely - in previous videos he was quite open about BMW springing him LTL's on an ongoing basis.Me - not struck on the colour but no denying it looked smart but who is exactly paying £117k for a car when you can buy a near exact FE Emira with a few thousand miles on the clock for half price.

There's a 2025 V6 with 50 miles on the clock for £72k at Colchester.
Is it a 2025 car, or is it an old stock 2022/2023 car that was registered last year? There seem to be very few 'new' non-press car Emira's around because they all seem to be FE's in the original launch colours for sale.
In any case if it's fully loaded (as all the FE's are) it represents good value compared to 'new' cars that would be costing £110K+
£40K saving with 50 miles on the clock.. and you don't get the nanny features.

Well I watched the vid with low expectations, but it's fab, Tiff does a lovely job. Makes me want one (maybe not at 117k!).
I thought it was pretty poor tbh. The usual history lesson of the brand for the first few minutes (zzz...) a bit about the car and costs but not much else. The car looked amazing but then it always did. I do like the new wheels though but not enough to spend £2K.Gassing Station | Emira | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
