Did anybody else see it? It appears they have taken some driving hints from the BTCC!! :yikes:

Anyway Robbie Kerr taken out in the 1st corner of the sprint race by USA's Scott Speed started at the back of the 2nd race. Helped by duff wheelnuts on a few pit stops for other cars he drove a great race and finished in 2nd!

Also does anybody else find it ammusing that the USA said "We're gonna take the championship", before brands and they didn't finish the last 2 races, and the 2 at brands were poor.... All mouth no trousers?

Scott Speed was doing well in the practice sessions, and testing... Pride before a fall and all that...

Looked to me like Robbie Kerr taking out Scott Speed, although it was again a boring race.

Now you want to see someone taking someone else out, try and catch a replay of the Bathurst 1000, during the final laps Greg Murphy clipped the back of Marcus Ambrose's car and nearly sent him over the retaining concrete wall at the Cutting, over and down the side of the mountain into the trees.

Speed was diagnosed in 2003 with ulcerative colitis & later anemia. At the start of 2004, his condition was such that he had to wear nappies. In mid '04 he needed a total blood transfusion and nearly had a colostomy. How he remained competitive in racing at that time, in his physical condition, is rather impressive.

Isn't he penciled in for the Red Bull junior team (ex-Minardi) next year?

Yes I think he is. Red Bull have all these drivers stacked up with no seats. I'm thinking it might be Antonio Luzzi(sp?) and Scott Speed in the 'Red Bull Minardi' line up.

I didn't realise Speed had been through all that lot! Top marks to the man. But I still think he should have left space for Robbie at turn 1.

noticed that the crowd was a little less than Brands Hatch - I think Brands for 40,000 +

Germany was about 39,500 less !

For all his faults (including stopping us poor Ginetta drivers from using the grass ), JP is a massive asset to UK motorsport.

The A1GP was properly promoted, and the crowd was well looked after when they were in the venue. It was a great day out, and maybe he made a bit of money out of it too.

The plans for Snet also look pretty good, which again will increase the accessibility to motorsport in the UK.

Not wanting to join a bandwagen here, but having raced at Snet, Brands and Silverstone this year, the first two tracks are much more welcoming places for spectators and competitors alike.
