Hilton, and some other chains, also offer the option of a digital key using your phone. No physical check in required just go straight to your room. I've used it a few times when I knew I'd be arriving at a potentially busy time. Normally go and pick up a physical key later
Some of the big chains will let you go keyless if you check in online & use their app to open the door. It’s a bit of a gimmick, but it might save a few minutes in a queue. Main advantage, as said, is that you don’t need to fill in any forms or provide a card at checkin.
