Quiet so far then
Off to Bovington next weekend for the BAMA Saxon Express. This year has changed to shift the day into the evening and have some of the tests in the dark. Looking forward to it as anything on the Tank training area is a challenge, so much of it looks the same so finding grids isn't as easy as you would think.

A bit sparse this thread!
Last night was a bit of a milestone in our house, my 15 year old daughter navigated on her first competition - Southsea MC's April Shower 12 Car rally.
In line with Southsea's policy of encouraging newcomers, we did the Baginners class (marked maps). She navigated the whole way herself, spotted when she'd gone wrong and got us back on track. She managed the time cards and route check and we got in before OTL.
We scored a finished and technically a class win, as there were no other Beginners. Proud Dad moment!

Excellent! My club (Eastern Counties MC) has been running some beginner events this winter, in lieu of the planned 12 cars given insurance costs, I’ve done a couple and had great fun - both times using our venerable Kia Ceed Sportswagen (estate…)
Two weekends ago I also had a first go at a targa; Chelmsford Motor Club’s event at RAF Wattisham. It was immense fun, but a bit sobering seeing one crew put their 205 well off the road on the 3rd test (brake failure I believe) and another put a hole in the sump of their MX5 (despite running a sump guard) before lunchtime… Another (seasoned) competitor had been looking for a nav; and so we “double drove” - each using our own cars.
I had forgotten about this thread, I’ve been writing up my exploits on Readers Cars : https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...
