Thought I would start a thread for this year Club100 championship to see if others are doing it.

My lad is taking part in his first Club100 championship this year, Southern in Super Lightweights. Just got back from Whilton Mill academy weekend. Very wet yesterday so a bit of a baptism of fire for his first time in the kart but did well. Today was dry for 2 of the sessions and those karts certainly shift. Needs to work on his confidence in the wet. Buckmore next for a test day then into the championship.

A very happy boy this evening.

Anyone else taking part?

im looking at taking my boy to the next 1 in kent. He has done a lot of outdoor karting but this will be a big step up for him. Hows your boy getting on?

Lydd? Would he be in Cadet or Junior?

He's doing good for his first year. The last round was great for him, qualified 14th overall so got straight in to the A finals for the first time. The races didn't go quite to plan but it is a big learning curve and being in the top group he is up against seasoned racers. He came away from the weekend 36th in the championship standings out of 111 and is currently the top rookie in the championship.

sounds like hes doing great!

Yes he would be a cadet and lydd is the first round we are looking at as semi close proximity.

My lad races under number 96 in Super Lightweights so if you can catch us happy to chat things over, or message me if you manage to get booked in. Try to get on the pre event test to get a bit of practice in before the main schedule starts, you may have to do it anyway as it is his first event.

We have some spare ballast if you need it and if they don't have enough for you to borrow.

It is very well run, have been impressed with it.

Another Club100 parent here - both my kids have been racing in cadets (currently cadet lightweight) and juniors, so a load of experience built up over the years.
Lydd is an excellent circuit, very good idea to watch track videos, as the drivers have taken a lot of footage, so really good to see how to best approach this fast flowing track.

Here's a dry lap in cadets:

And one to watch in the wet:

If you can get some pre-event testing, that's a great low pressure way to learn the layout.

We'll be there on Saturday 12th for cadet lightweights round 6.

We have the kart sim add on for rfactor 2. Is very useful for learning tracks.

Good point. It's a great simulator. According to my experts, the waterswift restricted kart model they have is the closest kart to the Club100 cadet, so that will give a good indication of how they drive on multiple tracks.
Kartsim also occasionally run an esports championship which is well worth taking part in.
