Put a deposit down on a bike this morning, and when carefully inspecting the pictures found these 2 which concern me a little and just wanted a second opinion on them please. At the moment it's an online sale so I can walk away, no questions asked.

FWIW the bike is up with Superbike Factory, but seems to have been looked after by someone who's used it and spent money where they wanted to - it's got crash bobbins on the front forks, bobbins on the back for a paddock stand, has a full Carupride system with cameras, etc. It's 24 plate with 8000 miles on, and is about £750-1k (about 7-10%) cheaper than similar bikes from other retailers. All HPI clear.

However, there are red paint marks on the inside of the handlebar risers, which look to me as if they are overspray from an undocumented repair. There is nothing obvious elsewhere on the pictures, and the paint on the panels does seem to match correctly. There is no other paint anywhere else I can see, and the rest of the bike is quite tidy with nothing you wouldn't expect.

Advert has been deleted, but this is the bike.

That doesn't link to an ad. But if it's a red bike...

Yes, advert has gone. Have replaced the link with a picture. Guess all i can do is go and have a look in person, ask what has happened.

If the ad has gone, perhaps the bike has too.

Surely nobody would paint a bike panel with it still on the bike??

Overspray from something else maybe?

I dunno, worth the question though if you're happy with the rest of it.

I’d also be worried with those bar risers…..they looked to have been dented by being whacked into position…..thing is, fork top adjusters are under them and going by the dents, they will be an absolute nightmare to remove

I think you really need to see the bike to be sure you're happy. If in doubt walk away - there's never a shortage of bikes for sale.

The bike is how much?
9k? 10k?
Significant mileage and half the warranty gone?

Seems like a lot compared to a brand new one?
Or does the luggage add a lot?

Been to have a look at the bike in person and the rest of it is mint. Looks like its never been out in the rain and has all the accessories someone looking after their bike would put on.

If no paint anywhere else and it’s aftermarket risers then the conclusion I’d come to is the paint was on them before they were fitted.

Looking closely the marks on one appear to have been done after the paint job.
