Betrayal

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt34258509/

When an assassination links a veteran MI5 agent to a conspiracy, he races to find the truth and protect his career, marriage, and country

Not your average over the top spy thriller, thought it started off a bit slow and seemed like it was going to be a weak offering but turned out to be ok by the end. 6/10

Same here.

It was indeed 'ok'.

Hmmm. Just "OK". Thats disappointing.

We loved Endeavour. We were hoping for another top rated gritty police drama. frown

Might not be the average over the top spy thriller, but WAS the average ITV drama

Maverick lead character who gets results but doesn't follow the rules
By the book boss on his case
Trouble at home, they love each other but can't communicate
Meet ups in oddly empty multi storey car parks

etc etc

If they aren't getting AI to write their scripts already they soon will be

I thought it was quite good. I’m surprised the tech bod for MI5 was some dude on a PC in the basement but, naturally, he has instant access to every CCTV camera everywhere hehe

That’s true because it’s also the case on Slow Horses…… mind Mossad also seemed to have access to every CCTV system in Iran on Apples “Tehran”, but that actually may well be true! smile

I thought it was disappointing. I couldn't get past drug dealers getting involved in something like that, drug dealing being pretty lucrative, I would have thought. Very weak plot I thought. I like Sean Evans as the young Morse, but this didn't work for me. I think they are setting it up for another season, but not for me.

I'd say it was good rather than great. At least the producers resisted any temptation to stretch the storyline to more than four episodes.

Can see another one off the back of it. Love Shaun Evans in all that I have seen him in.

This was high-average, at best.

Disagree, some ITV dramas are good.

This was 5 or 6/10 for me.

Too many personal scenes with his wife instead of the main story.

Local drug dealers dabbing in a bit of sarin?

The whiney mi5 officer character, total waste.

I liked the dynamic with the IT guy, wish he had been in it more.
