Very real car dreams

I had an amazing dream last night which felt so real - I was holding my E34 520 in a perfect drift around the Royal Chase roundabout (in Shaftesbury if anyone knows it) I did about 3 laps! The road surface was so slippery that it was possible to hold a perfect, yet slow drift.

I also once had a very real dream that I owned an Aston Vantage when they first came out in 2006(?) - "mine" was that bright yellow promo colour they did. I remember waking up feeling bitterly disappointed that I didn't own one!

Had a couple where my first car, a Mk1 Capri came back into my possession, woke up and was genuinely dissapointed it was only a dream !

Many years ago I had an amazing day on my motorbike exploring the Parc des Volcans d'Auvergne in France.
I regularly relive the journey around this region in my dreams, although not always on a motorbike, my 911 is frequently the transport of choice.

I used to get my old Triumph to slide around it but never a proper drift all the way round haha

I've had those too! I dreamt I had my old Triumph back and then, like you, was upset it wasn't real!

I had a dream in which I was driving the purple MkIII Cortina I had as a company car. It drove much better in the dream than it did in the 1970s.

Up until very, very recently, I kept dreaming that I was driving my old (second) TVR Griffith, which I sold in around 2008.

My most recent car dream (at weekend) was about my dad driving a black Austin Princess which he reversed into the garage at his house and it promptly caught fire. I had to drag him out and then deal with the fire. Unpack that one.

I have a frequent recurring dream that I still have access to my old Mini Cooper S from about 15 years ago, that has just been forgotten about behind some garage/yard somewhere and rediscovered, and drive around in it again

For years I’ve had a dream about a collection of cars that I’d bought years previously (in my dream), all just about running but nowhere near perfect. There’s always a beaten up but very cool white XJS. I can never picture any of the others. I’d stored them all in a series of lockups about a mile from home. The only problem is I can’t recall which garages they’re in or exactly where the garages are any more.

Mine is parking the car and then not being able to find it.

The other recurring dream I have is trying to get in my car which has shrunk in size and when I do somehow get in it will only go at walking speed so I never seem to get anywhere.

My previously mentioned recurrent dreams about my old TVR are similarly plagued. There's invariably something wrong with the car, as if instead of being sold, it's just languished somewhere in the back of the garage and suffered some manner of decline.

I have a recurring dream in which I'm driving my car and need to stop but the brakes barely slow the car no matter how hard I push my foot on the pedal. Sometimes this ends with me driving through a gap that is too narrow for the car but I somehow make it through albeit with the car now severely scraped up.

I used to dream a lot about getting my knee down whilst cornering on a motorbike.

But the ground was always soft and spongy.

Sounds a bit like those dreams where there's an attacker and you try and stick your absolute maximum haymaker on them, and it's like trying to fight under water, with lead in your boxing gloves.

I remember years ago having a very vivid dream of driving a silver 205 GTi 1.9 - car I’ve never actually driven in reality. It was rattly and not well looked after, but went like a rocket down a nearby road from my childhood which I shouldn't have been speeding on

I recalled thinking it might have had an Mi16 conversion, but just as I was about to find out I woke up, so I’ll never know unfortunately. I’d like to think it had
