Anyone off to order a Ducati Formula 73?

https://www.ducati.com/gb/en/bikes/heritage/formul...

It's a pity that the person who wrote the marketing blurb doesn't know Ducati's history. smile

Designed to capture the rebellious spirit of a Café Racer, Formula 73 pays tribute to one of the most revered Borgo Panigale bikes: the Ducati 750 Super Sport Desmo, the first production Ducati to feature the desmodromic timing system.

(and they STILL couldn't come up with a decent design for the arse end)

I can’t knock it too much,

It’s nice to see a genuinely special edition that isn’t just a new colourway for a year

I do still really like the Sport Classic 1000 so that must help hehe

The original Multistrada got lots of stick for being ugly though it has partly grown on me but I find that just horrible.

The back end looks like it's been grafted from another bike and I have no words to describe the fairing and all topped off with a selfie-stick number plate. hurl

Hard to believe it comes from the same stable as a 916.

Maybe I'm just an old fart who's stuck in his ways but no thanks, not for me.

I was thinking of building something similar next year. I've had an old classic style fairing kicking about so I think rather than waste the tenner it cost me the only sensible decision is to buy an early monster and see what I can make out of it. Green frame tribute is top of the list and it's nice to know whatever I do it won't be as ugly as the factory effort.

You know when people put high bars on Fireblades and TL1000Ss and have to cut the fairing back for clearance..... yeah that.... You'd hope for something more cohesive from a factory styling department. However, I know how fashionable I am so they'll sell thousands!!!

Whilst I am not the last word in tasteful styling.

I quite like it.

It just reminds me too much of a scrambler. It’s not unique enough.

Sorry but it's hideous (and I like that sort of bike....)

Owning a few ducatis, I quite like the way it loved in the video. However if it was a choice between that and the mv agusta Superveloce, it would be the MV I'm afraid.

The original 750 super sport was a state of the art bike in its day, whereas this thing is just a hashed up Scrambler.
No thanks!

I d like to think Ducati will come out with something properly special for their 100th Birthday along the lines of the Desmosedici.

This is completely ‘meh’ imho, and trying desperately at another quick green frame cash grab.

Indeed. The central 75% is just like my scrambler, but with too much plastic added front and rear.

As a Scrambler owner that is just a mess. It’s a real shame they lost the full metal tank with the new gen. Any excuse….

Cheers. Trying to build it into the ‘S’ spec they never made. It’s got Nitron suspension, the Zard can that retains a catalyst, and just ordered a proper Brembo M/C. Also changed the bars to some OE ones from another model. Tail tidy, the usual stuff. It’s a brilliant bike for the roads round here.
