Did this on New Years Day at work, the headaches and tinnitus have thankfully gone now, but apparently the nerve damage means I'm left with all food tasting like it's made of metal, or has blood in it.

I'm told this might recede in a year, or might be permanent. Anyone got anything to say that might cheer me up? I used to love food, but all the enjoyment has gone now.

Nothing to cheer you up I’m afraid, I damaged a nerve in my cheek and it did take over a year for my sense of taste to return, although it did return fully. Similar to you everything tasted of metal. I also had no sense of feeling in my teeth for the same period which felt quite odd.
