Where is the best place to post an open forum discussion about a new automotive product or business idea where I would simply like to gather thoughts, advice, and questions from people?

To clarify before admin delete this, I'm not looking to sell anything, I just want to have a discussion with like-minded people whose opinions I value - i'm assuming PistonHeads isn't going to allow this, so is there something I am missing?

I don't see why you can't discuss it on here. Some of the tripe the Mods let run amazes me.

However if not then Reddit might work. You don't attract too many trolls on their platform.

Business section would be the place, there’s a lot of knowledge on there.

There is/is going to be a huge market for a plug in module/switchable coding to code out all of the intrusive ste manufacturers are required to install these days. Maybe even a market for ripping out entire dashboards and replacing them with something sensible with buttons and the only screen being nav related. I'm a luddite though so possibly better asking someone else smile

Sounds good to me! I don't want to scroll through 8 menus to put the headlights on. Just make sure the satnav has live traffic smile

Fairly sure any modification like this you would have to notify your insurance, as the insurance groups come down because of all the ADAS nonsense. Not telling them would likely invalidate your insurance if you switched off or removed the system systems?

Actually that raises a general point if I turn off all of the front impact sensor nonsense in my Mercedes, and have a front impact crash… Is my insurance invalid? If they read the codes and find out I had chosen to deactivate their safety systems
