Warpigs Brewpub is definitely worth a visit. https://www.warpigs.dk/

If you like gin, https://two-socks.com/ Expensive, but so is most of Copenhagen.

David.

Tivoli gardens are great fun...even as an adult. A bizarre mix of Victorian era style botanical garden and Alton Towers.

A river trip is worth doing for an hour, just to see a bit more of the city.

Just be prepared to feel short fat and ugly though OP. They're a good looking race the Danes.

Agree on all this. The last point the most

Sporvejen great for a burger too in the city centre. Designed like an old train

As it sounds like you may be on a lads trip, Christiania might be worth a visit. I’ll leave you to decide if it’s your thing or not but it’s got a pleasant vibe, particularly warmer months playing checkers with sometimes an artist playing on the stage.

I have to agree the ladies aren’t bad on the eyes as Mrs Shnozz is from Copenhagen. However, I’m not sure she’d agree that the Danish gents are in the same league as their counterparts. Certainly a tall bunch though, I’m 6’3” and the shortest among her male family by several inches. Father in law is 6’7” and his brother an inch taller. Even his sister is 6’.

I was told it can get a little rough after dark though.

Perhaps depends what you are used to but perhaps limit it to daytimes. It’s a pleasant place on a sunny afternoon.

Of an evening I’d recommend the meatpacking district (Kødbyen) which has some decent bars and restaurants. Trendier clientele.

We accidentally stayed in the red light area. I was asked to do a conference talk, so rather than stay at the conference location, asked for the money instead, booked somewhere cheap, and took my family.

Trying to distract my 7 year old from the giant black rubber dildo in the window opposite our hotel every morning was entertaining. Oh how we l(well I) laughed yikes Despite the location, felt very safe.

I clicked on your post with he intention of saying "Warpigs" but have been beaten to it
Great place to kill an hour or so with excellent beer and decent food

The food and beer scenes were an unexpected bonus, really loved our time there and happy to recommend to others

Christiana - hmmmm, wouldnt bother and the little mermaid is a tad underwhelming as its a 20-30 min walk from anywhere decent

A boat trip is a good shout, this one sounds like a hell hole but was really good and not as cringe as you may think:
https://www.heycaptain.dk/

They also take you to the little mermaid so its a win

Enjoy!

If you are going to bother with the little mermaid (and the emphasis is very much on little) then I d combine it with the fortress on the hill beside it. Quite a nice walk through the grounds and you can see the mermaid from the path nearest the sea from that walk.

It s not a bad little walk back from there to Nyhavn.

Agree with above the boat trip might be not appeal 'as tourist' but we found it good for a basis of whats going on.
Warpigs, or the Meatpacking district on the whole I would say is good craic, as is walking down the bars on Nyhavn.

have you booked anywhere for dinner?

i have only been once, and the objective was to visit noma, which we did in a group of 6, one of whom is a top level chef.

i mention this as the surprise meal was a very casual place called khmer cuisine. very unassuming, cheap and super tasty.

popl burger was also decent but doesn't seem to be well reviewed, i wonder if it's taken a dive in quality. the sides were great.

punk royale would be a good experience with mates, it is certainly different.

things to do:

grundtvigs kirke is well worth a detour, but it is a detour, nothing much at all around it.

similarly cisternerne is definitely interesting, an underground art museum.

copenhill is definitely unique and is close to reffen street food, makes for a good walk to build up an appetite.

Was there in the summer, cool city.

Found the water bus/taxi covered enough of the harbour/water so didn't take a water tour. Cost covered by daily public transport pass. Metro for getting about is convenient as well.

Warpigs was good, great beer and cool location. Burgers at Gasoline Grill were superb (Reffen & the original garage).

We had evening meals at Barr, Baest & Delphine; all were good & different, Delphine was my favourite - there's also a Mikkeller bar nearby.

Tarnet, in the city centre, has free access to the tower giving a cityscape view.

The hotel we stayed in (25Hours Paper Island) had a rooftop cocktail bar with weekend DJ's (if that's your thing).

Top place for street spots as well:
