NIP received for 38/30 last year in average speed area, no course offered just 3 pints/£100 which was paid/DL No. sent off etc.

Thought that was the end of it.

Have just received, a couple of days before the 6 month cut off, a Single Justice Procedure notice for the same offence, and on that paperwork was correct Driving license number. Also can see the fine was paid and never returned.

On checking DL, it would appear the licence hasn't been endorsed...?

What's happened here? My research suggests this can happen if something wasn't complied with (i.e DL number not given), but it was, and this is first correspondence singe the FPN/NIP was dealt with 6 months ago.

Does anyone know what may have happened here? I would ring and ask... but who?! frown The letter only gives option to plead and no contact info/

Any advice gratefully received smile

Did you pick what pints you wanted and in what bar? Could be that.

I think I had something similar years ago about a number plate fine, and I rang the local court who had issued it and spoke to someone as I was accused of under paying the automated fine, which I obviously can't do, I could only pay the fine the automated system let me do.
I digress, I had a case number and rang the court helpline and they looked into it and told me what was wrong and how to proceed, that is where I would start.

Don't you have to send the actual physical licence off?
I know it sounds like madness, as it is all held centrally, but I think that at least used to be the requirement.
If so, I guess you haven't technically complied with the FPN.

It's changed hasn't it? No need to send off the dl photocard any more?

Spoke to court, they see that Police have gone down SJP route, but no info given as to why..... no physical license required to send off, only admission of guilt, acceptance of FPN, DL number and payment. All was done.

They advised now that the SJP route has started, I should try and get refund for the FPN payment and reply to the forms..... effing silly really. The DL number is definitely correct and is included on the SJN notice, so they had everything, and it was done in time.

One thing occurs to me, will the 3 points reach the threshold for a ban or revocation of your licence?

I'd be thinking not to get a refund at this point. Say, I admitted guilt, did the process, paid the fine, job done thanks.

Indeed, I’m going to try and contact the Police force in question first for an explanation, then pretty much do this I think

How long after the offence did you receive the FP offer of £100 and 3 points?

Have you checked whether the 3 points are now on your licence details?

No they are not recorded as endorsed! Only found this out this week after investigating after the SJP arrived.

As above, original NIP/FPN dealt with and paid, licence number given etc. they have even included the correct DL number in the SJP letter (checked) so they had it. And fine never returned, or any other communication since then until now.

Rang court, they can see that the Police have instigated SJP route for same offence, but explained that usually there would be notes on the case file explaining why…… nothing in this case?

So clearly for some reason the process was broken which is why you now have the SJP.

What choices do you have from the SJP? Not guilty or guilty? I presume you need to make an intervention somehow before the court date.
