That is lovely, certainly something I would love to own one day when I can have the space (read that as somewhere to hide from the wife).

That colour, 2 doors and gold wheels has always been what springs to mind when I think of an Impreza - lovely!

90’s rally perfection. I bet it feels special when you do get her out.

They are special, it s funny driving one now, they feel tiny and light and can make 280bhp feel like much more.

I had a P1 way back and, when they were worth buttons, put a forged 2.5 and a honking big turbo in it for ~450bhp. Was quite a machine and obviously hugely fast but being faster didn’t necessarily make it better.

I’d love another GC8 coupe, and would keep it standard-ish. A burbly exhaust and remap with maybe 330bhp is about perfect.

I was lucky enough to have one of the early Impreza Turbos as a brand new company car in 1994, much to the disgust of some of my work colleagues who thought Japanese should not be allowed as company cars.

It was quite an exciting car in those days with 200 ish bhp, and the noise from that flat four was quite different to the Ford Granada's and Rover's most of them had.

Funnily enough after a few weeks they were all wanting to swap for a few days and didn't want to give it back to me after they had driven it.

I have very fond memories as that was my last ever company car before I flew the nest and went self employed, but a good way to go out.

I did buy a 5 door import a couple of years later but regretted not buying the E30 M3 I also looked at which was on sale for £8k.

That was the one that got away, worth a considerable amount of money today frown

The Impreza still looks good today particularly in blue with the gold wheels.
