Is now the right time to buy???
Discussion
I've been debating buying a 996 and I've looked at a few...it seems that it is a buyers market ...we'll, sort of.....
I'm looking at 6 months or so of Porsche ownership before I emigrate. It seems I've come to a point where if I don't do it now, I never will!!..what with new houses and all the rest of it...
Is now a good time to buy and sell next spring or just hang on to my cash and hope I may get one in the future??.....I'm itching to get one but don't want a huge loss when I come to go!!....
Thanks for any responses

Definitely a buyers market, but I'm not sure prices will be that strong on any model. Less people buying these cars at the moment, and a lot of new models coming which will put further downward pressure from the hardcore & wealthy who upgrade but need to shift the old wheels.
Dunno what you are intending to spend, but bare in mind that bid/ask spread is huge on recent cars via a dealer, and that would likely have to be your sales route if you have a hard deadline in 6 months.
can I suggest you look at www.portiacraft.com
they do an interesting deal as winter approaches and the demand for porsches decreases - especially cabs - whereby you purchase the car and return it to them in the spring (i.e after 6m) and provided youve not used the car to transport baby sick all day long they guarantee to give you back the purchase price less two grand.
the devil is in the detail of course, and that I dont know.
also an equivalent 4 grand/year depreciation may not suit everyone - but on a 996? with residuals plummeting anyway. might just suit...
