Hi all,

Long time lurker and finally have something worthwhile to post.

Me and my wife went looking for a car at the weekend and stumbled upon an M4 we wanted in the carpark, unprepared, not advertised yet and traded in the day before, we had a look and test drive and put a deposit on it subject to preparation.

Unfortunately it flagged for previous tuning and potential decat, it didn’t seem any faster or louder than our previous m4 but as a result of that the dealer won’t sell us it, no ifs, not buts, it’s going to BCA.. honestly I’m not all that fussed if it’s previously had a tune on or is currently tuned, and I want to buy it as the spec is quite a hard thing to come by.

I’m wondering how I go about getting a bid in as a private individual, or if anyone can assist?

Dealer has told me which BCA it is going to and will be calling to let me know when it goes. I’ve pleaded with the dealer to allow a trade sale but as much as much as they want to help, they won’t budge.

I’ve seen the full workshop report, so know fully what I’m in for.

Thanks all.

What about speaking to a local trader to buy on your behalf for a backhander?

I had thought about that, the most local trader to me isn’t trustworthy (from experience) and i can’t really think of any others small enough to not want to stock it that would help.

This is exactly what I had been looking for! Thank you.

Have you / anyone else used them before? Would be very grateful to hear people’s experiences.
