Have decided i want to get away this year.

When going on the type of holiday im thinking of i dont want to have to think, manage or plan.

List of Musts

Adult Only
All inclusive
A minimum of 27 degrees
At least 5 proper restaurants
Not between May and October

We have been to a few resorts in the Caribbean and Mexico the best being Secrets Maroma in Mexico. We could just go back there (have been 3 times) but it seems a bit of a waste to keep going to the same place.

Any recommendations? Were both under 40, dont mind the party atmosphere as long as you can get away from it if you want to. Not fussed about exploring or the local towns etc. Flight times dont matter and we can go anytime of the year. I want to avoid May to October as that clashes with my race season.

Budget around 10k but can be flexible, want to go for 9 or 10 nights.

Had a look at Sandals but have always avoided them for some reason. Went down the rabbit hole of reading trip adviser reviews on quite a few places and obviously everywhere has negative ones which have stuck in my mind and put me off!

Thanks all

Mexican AI is very good, as AI goes.

But I would recommend looking outside AI as it can basically be a posh holiday camp....

We went to Thailand in January. Choose the right location and you'll have a plethora of restaurants on your doorstep with all the benefit of AI but much, much, much more choice.

And with your budget, you'll stay and live like a king.

Maldives. Different resort islands have different amenities, so you may need to check for any that meet your requirements. I think the most difficult to meet might be the 'adults only.' As the Maldives have become more popular over the years, they seem to be attracting more families, but they tend to be in the minority due to the cost.

Most definitely would not compromise on the Adults only part.

Having looked at all the options i think im just going to go back to the same place again. Seems very silly but i guess once your in a resort does it matter where you are?

I haven't looked at holidays for a good few years and cant believe how cheap they are. Considering the price of everything in the world goping mad holidays seemed to have swerved it!

We last went to this Mexico resort in 2019 and it cost us about 9k. I can do exactly the same trip today for 8!

Horses for courses but I wouldn't do that.

I've done it before and every time regretted it a little, unless it's a very cheap second holiday of the year.

The world is a big place, life is too short to go on holiday to the same resort more than once.

IMO.

Best all inclusive I've been to. Not that I have done many.

BodyHoliday is in need of a refresh, or rather it was when we last went in 2022. Granted, they were just coming out of Covid, but it felt a little tired.

I’m presuming the price is biz class flights?

No happy to go economy on the flights.

I think a lot of these places are getting dated now. I’ve always wanted to try Jade mountain but the actual resort dosnt appeal to me that much. It looks like everything is focussed on your room and just staying in it. Fine for a three night honeymoon but not so much for a proper break.

Try the AI’s in Dubai, you won’t find better quality of food or service.
Speak to Kenwood Travel, they know their stuff.

Part of the appeal is the nothing going on for me to be honest, although if you go again you'll get invited on the 'returners cruise' which is a nice night.

I've not been for years either, well since before my eldest was born and she is 7 in a couple of weeks.

Off topic, but first time we went, Amy Winehouse was in the room next to us, but have been 2009/10 - walking her dogs along the beach.

Have holiday prices in the Carribean etc not changed much? In Europe they seem to have doubled in a few years.

From everything I have looked at Caribbean and Mexico AI's seem about the same pound for pound as they did 10 year ago. So in reality have probably decreased in price. Very surprising.

I put this on the Feb sunshine thread as well but if you’re open to a fly and flop holiday the weather in the Dominican Republic is perfect in Feb and you can choose from some very good all inclusive hotels. Plus the flight is only 8hrs.

Then stop dicking about and just book Sandy Lane.
