I fitted (myself) Brembo discs to my 2015 120i M-Sport in August 2024 at 64k miles, it's now done 72k and they're warped.

These are the larger ones at 340mm and pretty expensive too, £265 for a pair, so I don't plan to fit them again.

Anyone have any recommendations please?

Many thanks.

I've been using EBC since I returned the last Brembos I ordered because they were badly machined.
Not BMW.

Thanks, I must admit I was expecting someone to say EBC but until now I didn't know they did discs too. They are £500 though frown

No such thing as warped discs, they're either full of pad deposits, or the mating faces weren't cleaned properly upon fitting; or there are other issues afoot (caliper issues or suspension arm issues (generally the thrust arm - the ball joint that goes into the knuckle fails and allows for too much movement and that transmits into the steering wheel, more so at speed/when braking)

I've run 2 piece Brembo discs on numerous cars without any issues; my previous 130i LE with the 4 pot Brembo calipers up front with 340mm discs and Pagid Street+ pads - they got hammered on hard, absolutely faultless

ATE are OEM via Autodoc, TRW, Textar and Jurid as well - Personally I wouldn't touch any EBC discs and pads; I've had numerous issues with them over the years and stopped using them, went back to ATE on my E39s and Brembo on my E65 / F01 and then E81 and faultless

You don't want to skimp on brake parts; like tyres they're what stop you from mating with trees at high speeds

Get your brake part numbers via RealOEM and see what OE BMW dealers on eBay are offering genuine discs at; and if not them, the above names on Autodoc - but they're still aftermarket and not made to the same specs as OE BMW - ATE tend to be the best as they're properly coated too, so they don't corrode

As Dan mentioned, you won't have warped them. A common way for pad transfer is after clean the car/wheels and leaving it standing.

You could try cleaning them up and new pads, or bite the bullet and do both.

Zinc coated and minimum of OE spec

Thanks, I found this interesting because I washed it on Sunday and didn't use it until Tues/Wed.

Discs and pads were both done in Aug 2024, I've done minimal miles since then so I'd rather not replace them if possible but thanks for the link, they look good value.

Thanks for taking the time to reply Dan, very useful. Would there be any other symptoms with the thrust arm that I could look out for?

I've had this car for 6 years (never kept a car this long!) and toyed with changing it so many times but can't get enthusiastic enough about any other car right now, especially as I'd probably need to put an extra £15k towards it. It's generally been very good, I only replaced the last discs because they were the originals and had a pretty big lip and rusty, they certainly lasted much much longer (if it is the discs this time).

The issue with the main thrust arms is that they're hard to diagnose until you remove the bloomin thing...

This is an example; was a previous F01 730D of mine, literally flew through it's MOT 4 days before and then I was getting a wobbling at speed and when braking. Dropped all the front suspension arms and the thrust arm balljoints, that go into the knuckle, were fubar!

They were 5 months old, fitted 2 months before I bought the car. Cheap parts used!

Replaced with Moog and the car had zero issues

And I know what you're saying re cars; same with our F31 - such a good car, I cannot suss out what'd replace it without spending £10-£15k on top, and we have no need to do that
