hi gang :wavey:
got myself a nifty set of porsche alloy pedals to brighten up the footwell and am gonna fit 'em tommorow. anyone got any ideas how/ done this before? im assuming that the brake/clutch pedals just have rubber covers that come off and ill have to drill the metal below, but does anyone know whether the footrest/ loud pedal have to be removed or just drilled and attached to?
id appreciate any advice gang :)

must say nervous, thought you were getting a fairly hard time in recent threads about being a little limp in the wrist - purple porsche and all. but purple porsche AND shiny metal foot pedals???

ps for a very reasonable sum you can get little blue lights that shine underneath your car in the dark and make it look like you are wafting along on a silk chiffon scarf.....

sorry, cant help. my own porsche does not require the addition of metal pedals to achive maximum "G" rating, being the model of choice for hairdressers and ballroom dance teachers the world over

on a slightly more serious note, you do seem very keen to "enhance" your new baby in various ways.... might it not be an idea simply to drive and enjoy for a bit before starting to mod? for example, are you adding metal pedals because youve come from a TVR and thats what they have?
my first 944 had a hideous pinstripe interior but it wasnt cost effective to change it. over time I came to realise that it was entirely in keeping with the era the car was created, and I came to rather like it (..ahem).
(and yes, it matched my the handle on my favourite set of curling tongs, but that's beside the point.)
on a practical/financial note, great store is set by "authenticity" come resale time. you may find too may cosmetic mods detract from the car's perceived value.

mate, I'm only doing the pedals!
my thinking is, theres alloy on the gear knob and the gear lever, just thought the pedals might finish it off nicely. they're no less authentic than than the lever or the handbrake or that bizare aliminium effect horseshoe round the gaitor, and they're the official Porsche ones. if they look horrible, ill be the first one to admit it and they'll be coming straight back off. not many people are as a harsher critic than me.
and, ill only be fixing them in such a way that they can be removed and any damage be completely repairable/ invisible. as an mechanical engineer, this is just about within my capabilities
believe me, I'm not a 'modifier', I'm not lusting still for some sub-surface TVR 'process of change', and I'm not all that likely to fit neons to my car. furthermore, you need not worry too much that I'm 'chaving' up the neighborhood. I'm only doing the pedals

but, point about residuals and enjoying with the car taken, totally. i just saw these and thought they'd look nice. other than that, I'm in love with my car and wouldn't change a single thing
if I'm honest, i cant think how this is any different to fitting new alloys, body kits etc (we can all argue all day long about lighter wheels affecting unsprung weight values, and bodykits reducing drag by a million of a percent etc but we all really know that we buy em,at least in the most part, cos we like the way they look, right?), but again point taken. thanks for your thoughts

The loud pedal just fits on top of the existing - 2 screws job done (as the girlfriend would say).
The other pedals need the rubber removing and four screws, pre-drilled (again, just what the girlfriend has each and every night, wooof woooof).
