Griffith 500 trumpet base on ebay

Anyone else seen this item on ebay, will it make a power difference on a Chimp 400?

If its a standard 500 trumpet base with the straight pipe lengths then it could lose you power IMHO.

what you are saying is that a 500 trumpet base is inferior to a standard Rover V8 item? Makes you wonder why TVR (or any other car maker) spend so much time improving the breathing ability of their engines if it doesn’t work!!!

Ye sit is by the looks of it, but arent the 4.x ones the same scaffold type pipe intakes but of a smaller size?

No, the 4.x ones use proper trumpets.

Ah so never new that.. so why the hell did they use them on the 5.0 I changed mine for proper alloy ones as never could understand why? cost I suppose!!

I think peter uses the term *proper trumpets* in its loosest form there .. even the 4.* trumpets aren't exactly flow-freindly ..
