I don't think I'm in control any more.

I'm setting up my new Wiim Amp Pro and want to use it for the TV sound sometimes. I've connected the HDMI cable to the ARC cnx on the TV.

The volume on the TV needs to be at 40+ for it to give the same volume as 20 when not using the Wiim.

Then I realised that if I turn the wiim off, and alter the TV settings to NOT use ARC, but to use the TV speakers, then next time I turn the TV on, it switches on the wiim, turns of the TV volume to 40 and plays through the HiFi.

What's going on? Is the answer to not use ARC, but will the TV output audio via non ARC HDMI and not auto switch on the Wiim?

If I use optical, it's still a problem as then the TV doesn't mute the internal speakers.

Yes, I've found all that stuff.

Also found the controls on the wiim to add gain to the ARC input. Makes the difference better, but still a big jump.l I suspect ti's the crappy HiSense TV at fault there.

I've also found the controls for controlling the Wiim auto on with TV.

So panic over, but still not really what I wanted. The main problem is that whilst I can fiddle with inputs, The Studio Manager can't, she needs as little controls as possible!
