hi

I got round to clearing out my attic this week - an found there some 25 yr old beano an dandy comics + some LPs from the 80s, an so wondered if theres a website where you can check them off a list to see if theyre worth anything before throwing them away?

ps- tho i havent found there a painting of 'the fallen Madonna with the big boobies' :D

Got my brother an old "Eagle" comic the other day, from the 50-60's mind, cost me a fiver, so you may be sitting on a few bob there.

Look on Fleabay, you'll be amazed.

I have a huge box full of Commando comics that seem to be worth far more than I was expecting.

Forbidden Planet is the most famous old comic shop around. Obviously, the prices they quote would not be the prices you wqould expect if trading comics to them, but they might give you an idea as to what the general market rate is.

a friend told me today he tried selling similar comics on ebay, an after 20 days he got NO bids whatsoever - maybe then just superhero type comics are wanted..?

fleabay can be wierd. FHM collections regularly go for 99pence, but the one with Gillean Anderson on the cover goes for 50 squid...

Put them on ebay and the market will tell you it's worth.

My mate is setting up a rare collectors cinematic poster website at the moment. I have a very rare one now, the original US size Bladerunner, unfolded and rolled up stright off the press in 1982. Worth about 400 quid. Some of the early bond posters are worth a few grand now, so they can be a good investment for ten years time.

i would agree with the last point/reply an others like it, if wasnt for the fact that ebayers may be under-selling their stuff without realising it, as they're largely unprofessional, unlike the dealers an wheelers in 2nd hand game.
for eg - a pal buys stuff cheaply at carboot sales then sells them on for bigger profit elsewhere!

so i wonder if this is happening at ebay as well?

what i really need is an online version of the 'record collector' almanac, or similar.
