Im soon to be in the market for a b8.5 a5. I plan to properly upgrade the sound system to an active 3 way front + the usual bits so it should sound mega. When searching for the car should i completely avoid b&o cars? From what i’ve read it’s more awkward to upgrade the system due to the fibre signal & dsp already included in the b&o amp so your forced to work with already processed signals unless you spend a silly amount of money on a dmi.
Trouble is so many of the nicely specced cars are equipped with the b&o which puts a bit of a spanner in the works. Has anyone who’s done this sort of upgrade to their car provide any words of wisdom and point me in the right direction if i were to get a b&o car? Many thanks

What variant are you after? I have a 2017 S5 convertible available with virtual dash, matrix lights, grey leather, reversing camera and without B&O.

I don't have any personal experience, but I did have a customer a few years ago who had a fair bit of work done on a B&O equipped B8 S4 by Car Audi Security in Hayes. I don't know the technical details but it definitely had an aftermarket amplifier tucked away in the boot to feed new speakers.
