Mclaren 570s Vs aston martin vantage v8
Discussion
Hi, lately my business has been going well and I'm thinking of buying a used 570s.
I have the vantage v8 2006 which is my dream is perfect, beautiful used every day, elegant and with timeless lines
Just a beautiful car
But I miss the rear engine, the short front bonnet and I was looking for a mclaren 570s
The doors are like a supercar, The line is rougher but still beautiful.
I studied the v8 Turbo and is a point against McLaren, as is the assistance and some known problems.
I'm afraid I regret buying the mclaren for my aston
I can't keep two. At the very least I could buy the mclaren, if I then realize that I have the wrong choice I sell it and buy the Aston again.
What would you do?

Ah yes, the problems with McLarens vs the astounding build quality and reliability of Aston.............

They are chalk and cheese, especially if the V8V is a manual.
One heavy, growly, old school tech that can still hold its own, the other a 21st Century modern version, a bit more modern but with a few more quirks that need a bit or working around.
A bit like comparing 2 of their F1 drivers

I traded in my Vantage for my first 650. The Aston was an excellent car, which I liked very much. For me, the McLaren is better at everything.
I come from 20 years of lotus elise s1. I know the discomfort. Mine is a manual gearbox. I chose the manual for driving pleasure. I traded in my Vantage for my first 650. The Aston was an excellent car, which I liked very much. For me, the McLaren is better at everything.
I see the Aston as an elegant car and it receives different praise than the Lotus
I live in Sardinia and MCLAREN assistance does not exist. I would have the servicing done by mechanics independently. I would use it every day. How are McLaren drivers considered? Those of Aston as a gentleman I am a lawyer and they sew on me
Maybe with the 570 I would look out of place.
I don't know.
I have to see it live and try it I think.

I would not want to have the first on the island as there would be a steep learning curve for any mechanic so it does not have to back go to the mainland - a less sophisticated option might be a better response to local facilities
That's why I worry. Not worth it. I wait a few years for the price of the new vantage v8 to drop. Nothing else comes to mind. Thank you for your valuable advice. I went from a 4.3 V8V to a 2010 V12 Vantage, which was a huge jump in performance. When I got the 650s, I ended up keeping the V12V - I figured a naturally aspirated, manual V12 would mean something in the future. But it is rarely used - it’s not on the same planet to drive. And though it gets on much more than the V8, it feels slow.
Of course you must resolve your concerns about Mac infrastructure first. And If you use your V8V like a Harley - something to cruise around in, stay with it.

I came from many TVR's to a V8 Vantage which was my dream car at the time and had been for many years, looked so right from any angle and a soundtrack unequalled plus that name 'Aston Martin'. However, that dream turned to nightmare for me and was so disappointed. Forward three years and got a McLaren 12C (of which I've had for 5.5 years now) and WOW! This thing is so comfortable by comparison and better on fuel too, much better in fact, oh and motorbike fast (had a fair few of those too). It is far more capable than my driving skills will allow, then of most of us if honest. I still feel a million dollars just looking at it coming out of a shop or even just in my garage. It's a McLaren FFS! A bonified supercar. Get a good one, no regrets.
I have a 2019 V8 Vantage and a year ago traded my 570S Spider in for a 720S Spider. Appreciate your circumstances are different on your island but they are night and day and I'd have the McLaren in a heartbeat,
Mostly due to how it feels when driving - the steering feel is unreal, the power is lovely and whilst it is not as classically pretty, I think it's a better looking car.
As a driver's car, the 570S every day of the week and twice on a Sunday - the Aston feels woolly and vague in comparison.
I'd ideally like to swap the Aston for a 570S but my wife thinks it would be ridiculous to have a 570 and a 720. Just doesn't understand...!

Interesting, In my head I keep swapping between a 720s and a 570s. Which one do you prefer? Mostly due to how it feels when driving - the steering feel is unreal, the power is lovely and whilst it is not as classically pretty, I think it's a better looking car.
