Looking to replace our sofa set and I'm quite keen on the Aluminium stuff with cushions. They state that they can be left out all year round (some most of the year) Anyone got any experience with some reliable brands? Id probably cover it anyway in winter but the option of being able to sit out without having to assemble cushions (like we did on our last Rattan sofa) would be great for the 6 months of milder weather.

We have 4 Seasons Outdoor aluminium framed - have had them for something approaching 10 years - still in very good condition but we always have a thick cover on during summer (find the cushions get covered in dew overnight when we want to sit on them 1st thing / obviously sometimes rains too - they do take a while to dry out when wet) and put the cushions into storage in the loft over winter.

We have an all weather sofa with cushions that state they can be left out all year round, but I would certainly take them inside for the winter.

If you leave them out all year, they will technically be undamaged but there is a good chance they will end up covered in green mould, the same as the patio, by the time summer comes, and require cleaning.

We’ve got Bramblecrest outdoor furniture and the cushions are shower resistant. No way we’d leave them out over winter.

Just had the patio extended and bought a new storage box for them as they were piled up in the garden room over the winter which meant we couldn’t use it.

We have rattan furniture with cushions and some type of synthetic fabric cushion covers. The cushions stay in a weatherproof storage box outside over winter and the rattan stays under a waterproof cover. Once spring has sprung, the cushions come out and stay on the furniture until autumn. We cover the furniture with the cover overnight.

On some days we get quite a heavy dew forming under the cover, but the cushions stay mould-free.

Bought from Moda Furnishings in 2019. Moda is now defunct. Furniture is still going strong.

Should this be in the council thread?

Interesting as the Moda founders have created a new company by the looks of it called Numa and it's this stuff I was looking at.

Our Rattan set fell to bits within 3 years (it wasn't Moda) so I'm moving towards Aluminium. As long as the rodents don't fancy taking a spot in the foam or taking the thread off the cushion then it sounds like leaving them on in summer will be fine.
