Did about 200 miles on the bike yesterday and was walking like John Wayne by the end.

I find I have to get off after an hour or so to get the feeling back in my bum.

The problem seems to be vibration, especially at motorway speeds, transmitting through the seat and pegs.

Any suggestions on aleviating the discomfort.

Tha bikes a Kawasaki Z750 by the way.

Thanks,

Phill

Know exactly what you mean, did about 350 on saturday to snetterton and back. I think the problem is the lack of circulation through sitting in one position on the motorway. Relaxing as much as possible will help but you need to move around more either by getting off the motorway and taking some twistier roads or by stopping frequently and have a quick walk.

If you don't have one, get a gel seat. I paid £100 for one for my SV - since I ride everyday, I do it in as much comfort as I can manage. I also fitted bar risers, taking bars an inch up and an inch towards me. They make a big difference to commuting comfort.

Avoid motorways/dual carriageways at all costs - always aim for the twisties. That way you not only keep 'numb bum' at bay for longer, but you avoid squaring off your rear tyre for longer too. A friend and I are riding from Salisbury to Birmingham at the weekend for a party, and the only proviso for the trip is that we avoid motorways and take the twistiest roads all the way there

Gel Seat
Managed to do 600 miles a day and got off feeling like another 600 could be done easily.

Sorry - but am going to lower the tone!!

A good massage works wonders...I only ride pillion - apart from when I'm on the other horse power - the mad palomino mare...then it's solo - and I get a numb bum on both!

Got a good gel seat on the mountain bike though and that seems to work!
