Image optimiser for web images?

[thunderstruck]

Anyone know of a good, free, image optimiser? I have an image I want to put on a web page, but it is over 100k which I think is too much?

Thanks

BTW I don't have photoshop...

hmmm paintshop pro - much cheaper for a 'lite' version.
Otherwise check the free software thread here - there are a couple of imaage management tools.

Personally I'd get photoshop anyway - it's so darn useful.....

Download Picasa!

Brilliant piece of free software from Google.

Otherwise, GIMP is really good! It's an opensource project originally for Linux but now ported for Windows and is really quite brilliant. (Similar to Photoshop)
