I have a aqualisa mixer tap with a shower head , the temp ring won’t go round to hot its feeling like there is a restriction, it goes back to cold but the shower head only runs at tepid ? Is that the thermostatic valve or something else ? Thanks

The thermostat stopped working in the mixer shower in my main bathroom. If you turned it all the way up you would get slightly warm water.

I just replaced it with a £30 Amazon special, It took about 5 minutes to replace.

I tired getting the thermostat out of the old one and it wasn't budging.

It's probably just hard water scale crud stopping it working.

As a first try, take off the outer parts, dunk in descaler, clean and reassemble. Work the temp ring full scale both ways to free it off.

You may have to remove the cartridge and dunk that as well. Mind the o ring at the back.

I've got two Aqualisa showers and they do need just freeing off now and then by running from full hot - full cold and back a couple of times to keep them free.

Thats the problem , I can’t get the temp ring to go round to the hot setting , it’s not even very old , we rarely use the bath as we have an ensuite . I’ll pull it apart later .

OP - are you sure you are pressing the anti-scald override button?

There isn’t one ! Changed the valve today and all sorted , most of the time was spent changing the o ring , next time it isn’t leaking it won’t get changed !
