okay, thought I'd ask you chaps as you're more likely to know than most.

Ultimate car wax?

Any ideas?

Zymol.

Best buy is to get the Sample pack which cost £170 and you get the 2nd, 3rd and 4th best Zymol wax.

Cheapo Zymol wash and wax is good, and smells nice.

Not sure how much better the £100+ packs are, always found something better to spend the extra cash on (ICE, etc).

Zymol are in the midst of a promotional campaign, maybe they will be giving out some freebies somewhere ...

A bit far off, but they are doing a promo at the Bristol Italian Car Festival next Spring ... anyone attending and showing will probably get a free once-over.

It's a cracking day out btw, if anyone wants to show some Italian metal then let me know as the organiser is a pal of mine. (sorry, off-message I know ...)

I used Zymol Vintage on my M5, and was very pleased. £300 for a full treatment, and it lasted almost intact for nearly a year. The 550 is booked in for Permagard next month, so will see how that compares (obviously two very different approaches, but an interesting comparison nonetheless).

I agree. You can get it from Halfrauds, costs about a tenner. Makes your garage smell lovely too.

There is only one Ultimate wax, Zymol Royale wax!

I've have just ordered some today, after testing and trying it out on a new M6 yesterday.

P.s. Permagard is a waste of money Roger, it is just like Supaguard.

Harly Wax!! It's got the most Carnauba wax that you can get in a wax, effortless to apply and just looks fantastic.

Only one guy sells it in the UK (it's from the US) and that's John Woods

www.woodsautomotive.co.uk/Harlywax.htm

Big feature on his work in this month's ClassicCars with his Pantera!

Wax really is worth a punt, amazing results!

cheers

Just to give a shameless plug of Miracle's service, he did my M5 and an excellent job he did too.

As for your comments on Permagard Paul - I hear what you say, but I have heard very good things; also I've signed up for it now so it's a bit rude to pull out at such short notice. Feedback to follow. It's £140, which seems reasonable.

I know Roger has been pleased with his so far but is there anyone else who has actually had Permagard done and been able to assess the results over a period of time? I am driving my car every day and people seem to suggest Ferrari paint is susceptible to stone chips and scratches. Thanks in advance.

My car had diamondbrite treatment today and it looks amazing just now. I'll see how things go over time. It was done by my usual valet after a machine polish. He says it's best done on new cars so isn't sure how long the results will last. If it works great if not at least I tried it.

Tried most of them and end up using three interchangeably: Zymol, Meguires and Zaino. They're all so good I defy anyone to tell the difference.

Looks like Zymol is winning on this post then!

Zaino and P21s are very good as well, but all depends on personal preference..

Kind Regards
