I've got some 4x108 et40 7.5j 17's coming. Now I've probably done too much reading regarding the subject and am now just super confused about it all.

- Been advised that I can run 5mm spacers both front and rear, is this correct?

- Tyres.... 215/40/17 fronts and 225/45/17 rears? Again another topic I've over read about and am confused on choices.

- I have the car going in the garage shortly to have the haz gold pro's fitted, what are people's thoughts on lowering? Not to the point of causing problems but would like to close up any arch gap.

Opinions greatly appreciated as I've read so much varying information I don't know what's what again lol

I'm in the middle of doing the same. I've bought some ET40 Bola's which are 17 x 7.5

5mm spacers may be enough to stop rubbing at the front but when I tried one of my wheels to see how it sat without a spacer it was very tucked in the arch and I don't think it would like right with just 5mm spacers. I'm going with 16mm all round.

Tyres wise, I'm going for the sizes you said as they are the closest in diameter to the originals.

That first one does look quite tucked in!

How much are you lowering it?

I'm not really sure what to do with that, whether to lower it or keep it normal ride height

I have 7 x 17s (ET25) on the front, running 215/40/17 tyres, and these sit nicely in line with the arch without any rubbing.

My rears are 8 x 18s (ET30), running 245/35/18.

I don't use spacers, but do bear in mind that if you do go down that route, you'll may need to install extended wheel bolts.

My car is lowered on Gaz Monotube.

Andrew.

They are both photos of the front wheel, just looking from the opposite directions. I wasn't planning on adjusting the height, I figured once the correct tyres are on it should look ok. Ignore the state of the rims, they are going off to be refurbed!

The stock ET is 25mm at the front and 33mm at the rear. Original fronts are 7" wide, so a 7.5" you get get away with ET30 ish. Trial fits always advisable! The fact that they're are staggered always results in issues if replacements are sought. They are available, at a cost!

I'm going 7.5j all round with the above tyre choices.

Out of curiosity, how much have you lowered yours?

I haven't lowered my car if that was for me. I have a Griff now but had 3 Chimaeras in the past. All of them remained on standard Bilsteins.

I'm on the SP12 wheels, 18" / 17" combination on my Griff, they're no longer available, I think. frown
