I get an error message when opening eBay on my mobile but it's fine on my Windows PC. I checked for known issues and there's a problem with Android V10 and older but I'm on the up to date version of Android, V16.

Anyone else got the same problem?

It's been like that for me for about a week now.

Googling suggests it's random and unfixable.

Oh, that's a bugger, so no point in me uninstalling the app and reinstalling it.

I had the same on Android. Here's what I did.

Settings
Apps
Find the EBay app and tap it
Tap on "Force stop" and follow the prompts
Tap on "Storage"
Tap on "clear cache", then follow the prompts
Repeat for "clear data"
Come out of settings

Open the app and log in.

Not saying this is guaranteed to work, but I had the same issue with the same error message and it worked for me.

Edit to add: This is on a Samsung S24FE running Android 16.

It didn't work for me, the three times I tried.

Apparently (anecdotally) not.

Have you tried opening it in a browser such as Brave instead of the App then re signing in? Usually works for me when apps start to play up.

It's working now, thanks. I don't know which bit worked but I cleared the cache, tided up the memory by deleting some junk and uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Signed in again and it's working. smile
