FINALLY my employer has seen the light and lifted the daft £1k, Halfords only limit for C2W. So I need a new bike...for work...obvs!

My current road bike is a Canyon Endurace, 12 speed mechanical groupset, discs, carbon frame, DT Swiss ally wheels. So I want something that is a decent upgrade without going crazy. For what it's worth I'll probably hang onto the Canyon for winter bike duties, and I also have a Dolan GXT titanium gravel bike that I use for touring or gravel, so my new bike doesn't really need to tick any off road boxes.

I'm in my early 50s, a not-too-serious-or-thin club rider, rides tend to be 60 mile weekend club cafe rides, 20 mile after work blasts, and the occasional long ride, I did a 10 day LEJOG a couple of years ago. Oh, and my erm daily commute obvs...

Wish list is:

-Carbon or Ti frame
-Geometry that's going to age with me...I'm not racing!
-Decent tyre clearance, my Canyon is running GP5000TR 28mm but I'd happily go a bit bigger
-Thoughtful design...bento box mounts would be nice. Not too fussed about mudguard mounts because Raceblades
-Electronic shifting...not particularly wedded to a particular manufacturer, either SRAM or Shimano is fine
-Decent gearing for a middle aged bloke and hills
-Hydraulic discs, obvs
-Carbon wheels...not an absolute deal breaker, I've never ridden with them but I hear speedy things

I don't want to buy something and then spend a fortune kitting out with all the right bits, so something where I have a bit of freedom on stem length, tyre choice etc is good, although I appreciate the big manufacturers tend to ship "as is".

Any good deals on last year's bikes are fine with me too. And finally it has to be from one of the many independent stores who have partnered with Halfords, so a new Canyon Endurace is out!

Thanks!

I recently got a new bike through Halfords C2W at Balfes Bikes, was very quick/easy to get the voucher and order from them. They also don't add a surcharge on sale bikes when using C2W vouchers as some retailers do. Suggest having a look at Giant Defy, Trek Domane, Scott Addict, Cube Attain, Specialized Roubaix as those seem to meet most of your requirements?

I'm looking for an endurance road bike too, funnily enough I'm after a second hand Endurace with discs, carbon frame and alloy DT swiss wheels.
If you're a size L, please DM me if you're looking to sell one day!

Thanks.

I just picked up a Trek Domane SL5.

105 Di2
Mudguard compatible
Bento box eyelets and tube storage
Relaxed geometry
Tubeless, Carbon wheels with 32mm tyres as standard

Super comfortable, quick enough, components are fine (it's my Winter bike). It was £3999 RRP, I got it for £3,200 and through c2w it's costing me £150 net over 12 months..

Done 400 miles since Jan and it's been absolutely ace.
