Recently revisited mad max
Its I guess ps4 era, but on PC on and steamdeck its totally playable and quite good looking.
Combat is a bit like the arkham games with flowing combat. Its quite easy compared to things like the witcher, but about my level now I am in my 40s. Also there is car combat which is pretty good and quite satisfying when it goes well, frustrating when it doesn't!
You collect scrap that you use to upgrade your kit and Max, story so far is not ground breaking but serves its purpose.
Also not much sound track beyond the engine of your car... where you can swap the engines out. Simplistic but still pretty cool...

It's a fantastic underated gem. Combat is fun, lots to do when you open up the map and some good variety with the driving and racing mechanics. Towards the end of the game if you have completed lots of the side missions you feel very over powered on both the hand to hand and vehicle combat but it's still lots of fun. The final race for the V8 is still an absolute nightmare though, I nearly gave up!
Agreed. Picked it up in the Steam sale a few years ago, didn't really expect much but was quickly hooked. Also in my 40's and enjoyed the fact it wasn't over complicated with loads of weapons, inventory, etc.
I do recall I didn't like the ending, but can't remember why
Not enough to put me off, I'll probably replay it at some point in the future.
