My 2009 B8 Audi A4 avant with 3.0 tdi v6 engine has developed a fault.

VCDS code reader shows:

5188 - Particulate Filter (Bank 1)
5390 - Left Engine Mount Solenoid Valve (N144)
5189 - Particulate Trap Bank 1

Any ideas what to do here? A mobile DPF cleaner guy told me that this is a dpf out job. Can one of the cleaning cans poured down the o2 sensor help here?

Any help appreciated. I have a flashing yellow coil symbol, Engine management light and also occasion DPF fault on the dash.

The engine mount solenoid is most likely a new engine mount required.

I've tried cleaner-in-a-can stuff before on a Citroen and it didn't do anything much. I took the DPF out, soaked it in cleaner and backflushed it.

Replace the engine mount assuming wiring/connector not damaged. Lemforder mounts are OEM and inexpensive from Autodoc.

Sounds like DPF will want removal and cleaning but you need to establish why it's clogged or it'll happen again in short order. Unlikely tins of snake oil will do anything other than cost money.

Do you run it on half a tank or less all the time?

Is it getting up to full temp.?

If not fill it up and drive hard until warm, then find some traffic to sit in and let the temp get up, it should regen.

Do not turn it off if it is in regen, it may feel differnt and smoke heavily.

If you do fill it, take off DPF clean it and drill a large hole through it, refit and carry on.
