Fifth Gear lap time table
Discussion
I missed the first of Fifth Gear's one-hour shows, which started last night. But they now have a league table of the fastest lap times set at Anglesey circuit and the Noble M400 is at the top (by some margin) with a time of 49.54 seconds. This was plucked from a feature used in the last series, when the M400 was head to head with the Evo FQ400.
There will be new additions to the table each week, so it'll be interesting to see how long the Noble stays up there.
If you want to see the other times which have been set, it's all on Fifth Gear's website.

IMHO this was a most entertaining tv show and has set a new standard in car shows that Top Gear will now need to aspire to! 5th Gear's timing board is PC controlled - they key in the time and it automatically sorts into fastest order (unlike TG who write on a piece of card and try to slot it into place!).
The piece on the Harrier versus the Ford GT was cool!

I thought Martin Brundle did a 48.5 in an M400 on the same track last year and generally Tiffs times seem to be about 2 secs quicker than VBH's.
Her time in the Elise 240R is pretty slow to be honest. I've done regular 51's in a standard Exige 190 on that track in the past. That car shouldn't be much slower than the Noble if at all!

Better than Top Gear? Were we watching the same program? Apart from Tiff, the presenters have about as much character as wooden chairs. And it's all so cliched and over-scripted. They had a few interesting ideas in there, but they were just Top Gear ideas - without the atmosphere. It was like watching Blue Peter with cars. Toss, though I enjoyed the car bits, obviously

Kinetic,
Yes, Brundle did a 48.83 lap at Anglesey last year, but that was for Car magazine's Performance Car of the Year feature.
I wouldn't underate VBH, either: after all, trailing a pretty serious pro driver like Brundle by just 0.71 seconds is hardly below par. IMO, Tiff would have probably matched Brundle's time - I seriously doubt if he would have wiped two seconds off Viki's time on a circuit that's just over a mile long.

In a 240R, however, she was almost 0.9 seconds slower than Tiff in what should be a clearly slower 111R.
