Over the past couple of years my wife has gotten more and more interested in plants and gardening. She seems mainly interested in house plants but does also like outdoor stuff too. I wondered about getting her a subscription to some sort of magazine relevant to this but I've no idea what's good and what's not. Most of the houseplants she has are less traditional, more funky/contemporary if that makes sense - unusual stuff, not necessarily flowering plants. Clearly I know very little about this but hopefully it makes sense to someone who does smile. Any suggestions?

Not a Monthly subscription , but have a look at Dr. D.G. Hessayon EXPERT paperbacks . There's a large series from House Plants , to Flower , to Lawn Etc... Often available 2nd Hand on EBay or new on AMAZON.

For facts presented in a non-nonsense way with useful illustrations the Dr Hessayon books are legendary.

For something more 'coffee table' you could try https://www.gardenersworld.com/subscribe/

PS How nice that you don't want to 'download an app'!

Not a magazine but May I recommend a Garden Centre that maybe of interest to her https://www.cowellsgc.co.uk for interesting house plants. they are up here in Ncl but have a fantastic following across the country for house plants and do online deliveries. their plant quality (indoor/outdoor), knowledge and service is second to NONE! Maybe of interest, maybe not...

Or join the National Trust - plenty of gardens there, and houses as a bonus!

The National front, sorry, Trust, runs and excellent chain of caffs, many of which are convenient for motorway travel breaks.
We also get value from them from free car parking in Devon and Cornwall.

The RHS is on a higher plane for gardening magazine, informative website, and stuff.
I'm not currently a member TBH, but some good friends are and we share magazines.
I'm trying to corrupt them with old copies of 'Performance Bikes'.
