Immobilisors and antifreeze

Has anyone ever experienced a compelte refusal of their chimasera to deactivate the immobilisor using the key fob before starting the car, or even lock the car. The key fob I am told is not my problem. But maybe the garage is just trying it on!

Is it simple to top up antifreeze into my coolant system or is this something a garage should be tasked with. I guess I'd need to drain the existing fluid (water mostly) from somewhere!?

Have you tried new batteries in the key fob?

Antifreeze...some RV8's have a drain cock in the block. Otherwise its a case of cracking open a jubilee clip on the hose bottom radiator and letting it drain, but be warned it splashes everywhere and its illegal to just let it pour into the mains sewage system (the glycol is poisonous, it packs livers up in seconds). While youre at it its a good idea to undo the other radiator hose stick a hosepipe into the radiator and back flush it to remove any sediment etc from the radiator.

Yup i had that problem and didn't have the little plastic immobiliser plug in key with me at the time. The car immobilised with the plug in but never again with the fob.Had to have a new immobiliser fitted. Does your car immobilse with the plastic plug in key?
