Hi All

A few months ago I bought this stubby pressure washer gun from Amazon but since the weather has been bad I’ve only just got round to trying it(which means it’s too late to return it). https://amzn.to/4uu1a9j

Having connected it I thought it felt a bit vague and sure enough when I turned on the pressure it came out everywhere but the nozzle end.

Pictures below of the hose connection and gun end. The washer is quite old but still does what I need.

My question is am I being thick or do I need an adapter?

Thanks

In the ad you linked there is a “connection map” in the images that describes “For direct connection to M22 hoses or with the addition of quick connector for QC hoses”.

Look for “M22 to Karcher Adapter 14mm” on Amazon, brand called Michaer sells them for £6.99. That’s what you need.

Thanks. So I think i need the brass adapter like this.

That said, I don’t understand what it is threaded, there is no thread on the hose.

If you need a snow foam cannon they usually come with the adaptor.
E Bay is the way.

I’ve got a nilfisk and got given a stubby for xmas , the stubby didn’t lock on to the high pressure hose until i trimmed the rubber part back a bit .

Got one already and it clicks straight into the existing Karcher Gun. This requires that gun being removed from the hose which is easy. I’m just a bit stuck getting this stubby gun connect Now.

I just tried again just in case this was user error.

The hose connection seems ok but as soon as you turn the water on and the pressure washer on water comes out of the join.

Stupid question; did you try it for more than a second or so? The first time I tried an aftermarket stubby with an adapter onto a karcher hose, it pissed water everywhere and I stopped immediately. Tried it again a week later to work out what the issue was, and it seated itself after a second and has been fine since. Might be worth jiggling it a little to seat.

Incidentally, looks like we've got the same adapter (bulbous thing on the bottom of the stubby gun).

Stubby looks similar, too.

Adapter - https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806984727808.ht...
Stubby 1 - https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256807880677709.ht...
Stubby 2- https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256807086698990.ht...

Stubby 2 is much nicer and appears to be a knockoff of a $230 stubby.

I've bought 3 foam cannons from ali - this isn't the best quality, but it produces the best foam.

Yes similar looking items. Lots of similar looking adapters on Amazon, I could try another I guess. The original Karcher hose doesn’t make any difference(the one I was using is good aftermarket).

I’ll try on Saturday, but my second effort under no pressure to get on and wash the car gave me the same result.

OP, It looks like that flat disc section on your hose end is stopping it from fully engaging. You need a different hose/adaptor.

Look at the other pictures of hose ends, the recessed bits are what lock it in place in the adaptor on the 2 rods.

Ok thanks that makes sense. The million dollar question is what adapter? Or I can just buy a new hose if easier.

Perhaps this is my friend

https://amzn.to/41d3h3T

The downside is it won’t fit my original lance so would need to change hoses(and the end that connects to the washer is a total pig)
